Steve was invited by resident John Woods to talk about the speed of traffic along Andover Rd, and in particular the stretch adjacent to Barton Farm.
Residents have previously met with Mark Oaten, and they now want Steve fully in the picture.
Speaking after the meeting, Steve said: "Speeding traffic outside Mountbatten Court, which is really becoming a worry to many elderly residents, is one of a number of long running issues I have picked up since becoming MP.
"This one, like many others, has had much attention from my predecessor and local councillors of all sides but we haven't moved forward. It's time for some answers from the county council; either this speed reduction and new crossing is a runner in which case we need it scheduled and completed or it's not and we need to work with residents on a plan B."
