Parchment Street Summer Party

17 July 2010

Winchester MP Steve Brine dropped into the Parchment Street party on Saturday July 17.

The summer party, which served up lashings of live music, real ale and hot food, was a celebration of specialist shopping in Parchment Street.

After a fun-filled visit, Steve commented: "The organisers have really built on last year's event. It was great to see local band Polly and the Billet Doux playing in the street.

"The whole thing had such a relaxed feel and it was just so refreshing, especially with the kids in tow, to wander freely and safely in Parchment Street with no cars to worry about. On days like this I can't help but wonder whether, in part at least, this is the future for Parchment Street."
